Under the Board of Directors is the Executive Committee:

Alliance Partners (Advocates): Represents those organizations, groups and individuals that have an interests in providing quality afterschool programs and services to children, youth and their families.

Purpose: Act in place and instead of the Board of Directors between board meetings and special meetings on all matters except those specifically reserved to the Board by the Bylaws pursuant to delegation of authority to such committees of the Board. The Executive Committee may have duties or perform services as prescribed by the Board of Directors.

Youth Advisory Board: Represents a small diverse group of middle and high school students from across the state. The Advisory Board creates a unique opportunity for youth to play an active role with school, community and government leaders to create healthier schools and communities.

The Board has five committees: Finance Resource Development, Public Relations/Marketing (standing), Program Quality & Evaluation (standing), Personnel (standing), and Bylaws/Nominations (standing).

Finance Resource Development committee purpose: Audit sustainability of the alliance and statewide afterschool programs.  Subcommittees: sustainability planning team.

Public Relations/Marketing committee purpose: Recommend policies relating to the public image of the organization. Inform the public regarding the functions of the organization and promote favorable public recognition.  Responsible for Lights On Afterschool.

Program Quality & Evaluation committee purpose: Conceptualize, develop and recommend plans for the implementation of programs and services in line with the mission and purpose of the organization.  Subcommittees: Research & Evaluation and Conference Planning Committee.

Personnel committee purpose: Recommend and oversee policies and practices for the employment and retention of personnel.

Bylaws/Nominations committee purpose: Recommends candidates for election and prepares a recommended slate of officers to be presented at the annual meeting for board approval. The committee may also develop and administer an orientation process for new board members.
