Peer-to-Peer Discussions: School-Age Care Licensing and Quality Standards
In January 2009, stakeholders from West Virginia spoke with child care licensing staff from Oklahoma, Colorado, South Dakota, and Delaware about their experiences developing school-age care licensing regulations and, in some cases, quality standards above licensing. Challenges and Strategies of Licensing School-Age Care
With the growth of public investments in afterschool, States are looking for ways to enhance program quality. State licensing regulations, the baseline of health and safety standards, are considered the first gateway to improving program quality.
