Technical Assistance

The Afterschool Investments project (AIP) provides technical assistance to CCDF grantees and other State and local leaders to increase access to high quality afterschool programs and systems. AIP regional technical assistance leads respond to the needs of regions, States and Territories to identify and support training and technical assistance through intensive, on-site meetings, regularly scheduled audio conferences and webinar events, and presentations at related national and regional meetings where child care administrators are key participants.

Licensing Regulations

Child care administrators and their partners are working together to revise or develop licensing regulations that are flexible enough to apply to a wide range of afterschool programs and settings, while ensuring health and safety and promoting quality. For example, AIP helps States gather input from providers on proposed revisions or consider how to align licensing and quality standards. This web page describes selected technical assistance activities and tools developed to help child care administrators and their partners strengthen licensing regulations for school-age care.

AIP provides technical assistance on a wide range of issues, such as developing school-age credentials, planning for the financing and sustainability of professional development systems, and linking professional development systems to other quality initiatives. This web page describes selected technical assistance activities and tools developed to help child care administrators and their partners strengthen the professional development system for the afterschool workforce.
