Speaker′s Kit

As part of the Child Care Bureau's efforts to promote nutrition and physical activity in child care and afterschool settings, the Bureau has developed a speaker's kit that is intended for program administrators, directors, TA providers, and others who are interested in promoting proper nutrition and physical activity in child care and afterschool settings. The kit includes Power Point slides, speaker's notes, and handouts outlining the following topics:

  • Childhood obesity and overweight statistics
  • Consequences of childhood obesity
  • Why childcare and afterschool settings are an ideal venue for incorporating nutrition and physical activity
  • Overview of program, policy, and finance strategies supporting nutrition and physical activity in child care and afterschool programs
