Hawaii's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Earmark:
FY 2006: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Earmark is $396,907.
FY 2004:
The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Earmark was $418,360.
The funds are used in the following ways to enhance the Hawaii infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):
- Full Inclusion for all Infants and Toddlers project, a collaborative effort with the Department of Health to provide subsidies, training and support to families with children who have special needs and promote statewide services that support the inclusion of these children in typical child care settings.
- Infant provider training , using the WestEd curricula, offered through People Attentive to Children (PATCH—the state resource and referral agency).
- Infant care on the grounds of certain high schools to assist teen parents in completing their high school education.
