Staff-to-Child Ratios

 

In Center-Based Care the staff-to-child ratios are

1:4 for 0 to 24 months; 1:7 for 2-year-olds; 1:12 for 3 year-olds

Two caregivers shall be present when there are > 6 children or > 2 infants present.

In Family Child Care the staff-to-child ratios are

1:8 (with no more than 2 children under 2) or 1:6 (with no more than 3 children under 2)

Caregivers who care for less than 5 children are not licensed, but may obtain a voluntary certificate, which requires the same staff-to-child ratios as a license.
