Chart 1.6 - Number of States in which Lead Agency  Itself Administers Eligibility, Provider-Locating, and Provider Payment

The bar chart compares the number of states in which Lead Agency itself administers eligibility, provider-locating and provider payment functions between the 2000-2001 and 2002-2003 plan years. Functions reported include: determine eligibility for TANF families; for non-TANF families; for both TANF and non-TANF families (lowest number for both plan years); assist parents with locating child care and make payments to providers (highest numbers for both plan years). In the 2002-2003 State Plans fewer States reported that eligibility determination provider payment are functions they perform directly. The highest number in which the Lead Agency performed such functions was administered
